Northlight is made by the people who use it. You don’t need to write code to help, and nobody needs permission to start.

Ways to help

• Use it and tell us what happens. A clear bug report is one of the most useful things anyone can give. Open an issue with the bug report form.
• Share ideas and ask questions. Start a discussion. Questions show us where Northlight or its manual isn’t clear yet.
• Improve the manual. If something confused you, you’re the right person to explain it. The manual lives in the northlight repository beside the code.
• Write code. Read the contributing guide and open a pull request. You keep the copyright in what you write, and it’s shared under the same licence as the rest of Northlight.
• Help someone else. Answer a question, show a friend how to record their first song, or tell people Northlight exists.

How we work together

Everyone taking part follows the code of conduct. Plans and decisions are made in public, on GitHub, so anyone can see what’s happening and why. That’s part of the pledge.
